Young Writers’ Open Mic & anthology launch
Calling young people (14-25s) from across South Yorkshire! If you write poems, tell stories, compose lyrics, spit bars, or have anything else to say out loud to a supportive audience, this is an evening to celebrate your words, ideas and talents in a warm atmosphere. We’ll also be launching a bumper Hive anthology including the winners of our recent competition.

Warda Yassin wins New Poets Prize
We are so delighted that Warda Yassin is a winner for the New Poets Award 2018! Along with three other young poets – Joe Carrick-Varty Tristram, Fane Saunders & Emma Jeremy, (congratulations to all!), Warda flies the flag for the North of England, and for both her Somali and English cultures which she combines so beautifully in her work.

Eloise Unerman, Poet in Residence at Ledbury Poetry Festival 2018
Massive congrats to Eloise Unerman of Rotherham Young Writers, who is young poet in residence at this year’s Ledbury Poetry Festival at the end of June! Ledbury is the country’s largest poetry festival, and Eloise, who hails from Goldthorpe, Barnsley, will be enjoying a range of events, as a VIP!, as well as reading her work and talking about her writing inspirations.
